The PADI five Star National Geographic Dive Center Sam’s Tours in Palau, Micronesia, welcomes Dr. Nick Martorano as new staff member. „The award-winning filmmaker of high definition films and digital video producer will offer workshops and training programs on both Apple and Windows based systems for underwater video shooting, digital video editing, DVD authoring as well as layout and imaging solutions using Adobe Photoshop“, explains Dermot Keane, General Manager of Sam’s Tours.
His workplace above water will also be Sam’s new Digital Photo Center. It is fully equipped to cater to digital photographers of all interest levels. The center’s equipment include six Apple iMac workstations with ample storage, archiving and secure data back up systems. Digital imaging is possible with Apple Aperture image management software, Adobe Photoshop Elements, Bridge, Toast and DSL Wi-Fi Internet access.
Nick creates underwater documentaries, promotional videos, films and personalized videos that include wide angle and close-up images of fish, invertebrates, wrecks and divers in the marine environment. His equipment consists of Sony digital video cameras, light and motion housings with H.I.D. lights, Apple Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere and other professional software tools. He is also available for professional work including underwater digital videography services, digital video editing, post-production and final output assignments.
He is the founder of Ocean Wonders (www.oceanwonders.com), which he launched as a service to those wishing to document the beauty and wonders of the ocean realm through the magic of visual media and digital video. His goal is to convince people to protect the marine environment. Explains Dr. Nick Martorano: „People will more likely protect what they have come to understand. I am convinced that digital media will help promoting an appreciation for the beauty and complexity of the marine environment.“ Ocean Wonders promotes collaboration between individuals and agencies interested in protecting life underwater.
